Retail

There are many retail stores that offer buy back programs for used items that are still in moderately good condition. Usually you are able to sellback an item even if it was purchased at a different store.

Lets begin with For Your Entertainment (FYE), FYE is one of the most popular outlets to sell back an enormous variety of used cds, dvds, and video games. Out of all the retail stores around me, FYE has accepted the most amount of cds/dvds, moreso than blockbuster and walmart.

Walmart and target both offer buy back solutions for both electronics and other various appliances. Although they only offer gift cards as methods of payment, this is often still better than just allowing this unused item to waste space.
You can look up the value of your item using the companies website http://walmart.gazelle.com/ http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/page.jsp?title=nextworth

For those who are wary about not getting cash, consider selling your gift card for cash! there are many ways to go about doing this including but not limited to: pawn shops, craigslist.org, ebay.com http://www.plasticjungle.com/sell-gift-cards i prefer ebay, because most of the time the final bid for your item will be just slightly above the actual amount of the card, this is because most people who buy gift cards on ebay use programs that give them % cash back on select purchases, which include ebay purchases like these.

Other places that offer trade in programs include Home Depot and Best Buy
